coffee in my hand
the morning sun peeking out

the moon just began
her journey across the sky

looking through your eyes

the most beautiful
sunset is nothing if I 
don’t share it with you

Verbal Explosion

bursting at the seams
my words cannot be contained
   better brace yourself

Midnight

no stars in my sky
and even the sinking moon
has called it a night

Preserver

throw me a lifeline
I need a glimmer of hope
to keep from drowning

Flurries

gently falling flakes
              drifting carefree through the air
      dusting midnight earth

Mournful

dark sky holds back tears
sense of expectant sorrow
      hangs within the air

Valentine

smitten by your smile
I feel within my heart where 
   Cupid’s arrow struck
